We caught up with our soccer superstar Luke Jobson (NSW) just before he headed off to West Virgina University of Technology to become a new star golden bear!

Luke Jobson

What are you most looking forward to about the U.S?

What I am most looking forward to about the U.S is the chance to study a field that I envisage myself working in, whilst having the chance to play soccer and chase a dream I have had for such a long time. It is not an opportunity that a lot of people get, and to play with a squad that has won back-to-back USCAA national championships (West Virginia Tech), is incredibly exciting for me as I can test myself against some of the best men’s soccer programs going around. But you can’t forget the chances to travel around the U.S. and explore what makes the U.S so amazing, so that is probably what I am looking forward to the most.

What will you be studying?

I will be majoring in sports management.

What do you want to come out of this whole experience?

When my college experience comes to the end, the most obvious answer to to complete my degree in sports management. But on top of that, I want to be able to look back and have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the USA.

I want to have found out more about myself and have furthered my career as a soccer player. I want to play professional soccer all around the world (especially playing in leagues like the EPL, MLS or Series A and represent Australia, and this trip will make that dream that much closer to a reality.

Sounds awesome, Luke! We can’t wait to see where your adventure takes you!
