jason hinsonJason Hinson has been playing soccer since the young age of six, after growing up around the sport from his soccer-mad father.

“I’ve been watching it with my dad for a while, and then he got me into playing when I was six and I’ve been doing it ever since… he’s been my inspiration,” he said.

“He played from when he was a young kid as well, so it’s been running in the family for ages now,” he shared.

Jason shares that apart from his father playing for Manly United Soccer Club, no one in his family had gotten as high as what he is planning to do.

“I’ve been watching Chelsea on TV, because I’m a Chelsea fan, and I’ve been wanting to play with them for ages. I wanted to create the next step, as soon as possible really,” he shared.

This urge to take the next step led Jason to jump at the chance of signing with NSR Australia.

“When I first got the letter about trials, I was reading it and it sounded really interesting to go over and play in a different country, to experience how they play as well as how we play over here, so I was pretty interested,” he said.

After a successful trial, and subsequent acceptance from NSR, Jason explains he was “over-the-moon”.

“I’m really excited just to go over there now and start playing,” he said.

Since signing with NSR, it’s pushed Jason to further want to achieve his goals.

“I’ve been trying a lot harder, I’ve been a lot more motivated to do everything,” he said.

“Putting time into football career and off the pitch, studying as hard as possible really.”

Aside from progressing his football career, Jason is excited to meet new friends, and study, with his sights set on a degree in sports administration.

Ultimately, through his U.S experience, Jason looks to “become a better player, get qualifications for sports administrations and to get signed by someone high up.”

What a plan, Jason! We’re sure you can get there.
