Hockey extraordinaire, Ashleigh Young (ACT), started playing hockey when she was in Year Five, after wanting to start a winter sport.
Following her hockey playing father’s cue, Ashleigh decided to sign up to play field hockey.
Ever since then, Ashleigh has had a great passion for the game.
“I like being on a team and playing with everyone, and then getting to play and train all the time,” she explained.
Ashleigh jumped at the opportunity to sign with NSR, to further her playing career.
“I thought it would be a really cool experience to be able to play a sport that I love, in another
country, and be able to see and learn new things in someplace new,” she said.
The young star can’t wait to live in America, and meet new friends.
“I’m excited to live in America because everyone seems so tight-knit in all the sporting teams, and everyone supports each other,” she assented.
As well as improving on her hockey playing abilities, Ashleigh has the dream of becoming a veterinarian.
“I want to be able to be able to play, and do the sport that I love, and be able to have a successful career at the same time.”
