Its official, Victoria’s soccer athlete, McKenzie Wilson, has landed in the U.S and has already earned herself a shout out on Coach Olson’s recruiting class of 2016 blog!
“McKenzie comes to Saint Joseph’s College from St. Paul’s Anglican Grammar School located in Australia. Her team has earned multiple honors over the years which include: Victorian Junior Country Championships, Country Soccer League U16’s Runner-Ups, Victorian State League 4 Senior Women’s Champions, and League Champions. McKenzie also played as an exchange student in the Senior Women’s Soccer at the Le Club de Parentis in Biscarrosse, France. McKenzie also earned various individual honors during her prep career that include: Outstanding Achievement in Soccer, Best and Fairest Player Award, Victorian Female Youth Leadership Program, Runner’s Best Player’s Award for Moe United, and was Senior School Sports Captain.
“I would like to thank NSR Australia for introducing McKenzie to us. We have a number of skype conversations with her and her family. McKenzie comes from a strong soccer family and we are excited to be bringing her over. We are looking to use McKenzie in an attacking midfield role. She has great vision around her and distributes well. Technically, she has a good first touch and is creative on the ball. She is not afraid to take players one on one. Her attitude and attentiveness has been outstanding. I am excited to see what she can do during her time here.”
Great to hear that you’re settling into college life McKenzie, we look forward to checking in with McKenzie later this year!
