How about going to a university that an ex-American president attended? You don’t want to go to an Ivy League school? That’s okay because this ex-president showed that it’s not just the Ivy League’s that can produce world leaders.
The University of Arkansas has achieved some great things both academically and in sport. They are currently sitting sixth in the record for all time national championships won with a total of 43. Bill Clinton attended the University of Arkansas and their sport program is known as the Arkansas Razorbacks.
The sport the Razorbacks are really known for is their track and field. Of the 43 titles won by the school, 40 of these titles have been won in track and field. They have also produced some super star athletes on the world stage including Tyson Gay and Mike Conley.
They have also produced world-class athletes in other sports such as John Daly (Golf), Stacy Lewis (Golf), Eric Hinske (Baseball) and Ken Hamlin (Football). Their Mascot is a hog and is the school flagship school, located in Fayetteville Arkansas.
They compete in the SEC conference in the Western Division. Their colours are cardinal and white and have 19 varsity teams. They have 11 women’s sponsored teams; basketball, cross country, golf, gymnastics, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field and volleyball. The men’s sports include; baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, tennis, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field.
