THON Weekend at Pennsylvania State University
Every February at Penn State, there’s a 48-hour no-sleeping or sitting dance party marathon! All proceeds go to a good cause – Four Diamonds Fund to fight paediatric cancer. The party has raised more than US$144 million towards the fund.
The Krispy Kreme Challenge at North Carolina State University
Every February, runners will travel 2.5 miles to a Krispy Kreme shop, eat a dozen doughnuts and then run back! It began as a dare between undergraduate students, but now is a huge event supporting The North Carolina Children’s Hospital.
Civilians VS Cadets Snowball Fight at Virginia Tech
During the first big snowfall of the year, students break up into two teams, and have a massive snowball fight to defend the school’s honour.
Mirror Lake Jump at Ohio State University
At the end of November, hundreds of students gather and plunge into freezing temperatures the Mirror Lake to celebrate the Ohio State vs Michigan football game. The tradition has been running strong since 1990.
