Our great chat with Rebecca Soni is continued below!
NSR: What do you define as your greatest achievement to date?
Rebecca: Of course, Olympic gold medals a great achievements, and I’m incredibly proud to have them, and proud of the work that went in to that! But I’m also proud of a lot since then. I’ve learned so many new things and I approach life after sports with a perspective of excitement, unlimited potential, and open doors. That’s something I consider a great achievement as well! Then of course, launching my new company, RISE Mentors which connects Olympians to young athletes via virtual video mentor sessions. It’s been a blast – and something I’m incredibly proud of!
NSR: What advice would you have for young aspiring athletic professionals, dreaming of achieving success?
Rebecca: Two things: Have fun, and don’t underestimate the power of your mind!! We spend so much time, as athletes, focusing on the physical aspects of sport… from technique to drills and racing. But there is so much that happens on an internal level that we assume is just “the way that it is”. Well, you actually have full control! Don’t let that slip by!
Well, what great words!
