Our soccer superstar, Jake O’Farrell (NSW) has just commenced his NSR journey at the Potomac State College, in West Virginia!
Check in with our star as he starts the biggest journey of his life so far!
Jake O’Farrell (NSW) started playing soccer five years ago, instantly falling in love with the sport.
“I had never played the sport before and a few friends from school convinced me to join their team. Ever since that moment, I fell in love with the sport… the physical and mental challenges of the game, being part of a team, setting and achieving goals, and the idea of accomplishing something that I could never do on my own,” explained Jake.
Jake looked to a US College system to pursue his soccer career, hoping to make it to the professional stakes.
“I would say that my ultimate career goal would be to play soccer professionally, either in the MLS or the A-league. I would consider myself extremely lucky and fortunate to do so.”
The soccer pro has eagerly awaited his US college experience.
“The thing I am probably looking forward to the most about Potomac is the experience itself, not just to play soccer in another country, or at a college, but also the opportunity to obtain a higher level of education,” he explained.
“To be honest, that frightens and excites me almost more than playing does.”
“I hope to gain many new skills, and make tonnes of memories in the process,” he said.
“As for NSR I couldn’t be more pleased with how helpful and supportive they have been thus far and I look forward to what comes next,” he praised.
All the best, Jake! We have high hopes for you
