Our incredible soccer pro, Agnes Evangelista (VIC) has officially just begun her journey at Andrew College, in Georgia!

Meet our awesome athlete here:

agnes

When did you first get involved in your sport?

I started soccer when I was 6 at my local club in Sweden- Azalea football club, after watching Sweden play in the world cup.

Why did you want to get involved in the NSR and take your sport and study overseas?

I first thought about it when I played at a tournament in NSW when I was around 14 and one of my team mates was from the US and told me I should give it a go, I was quite keen at the time but didn’t know how to go about it so when my coach recommended me to the NSR a few years later I jumped on board. I absolutely love to travel and wanted to experience something new, and the US is notorious for having great women’s soccer. So it all just seems like a natural fit.

What college have you now committed to?

I am going to be studying pre-law at Andrew College in Georgia.

What are you most excited about for your college experience?

Getting to play soccer every day, develop as a player and to be able to get a degree at the same time.

How are you feeling right now knowing your adventure is coming up so soon?

I am super excited to meet my team and start playing. I’m elated knowing it’s finally happening after so much time in the making, but also a little sad to leave my friends and family behind.  And a little annoyed I didn’t start packing earlier, better get started….

What do you hope to get out of this experience?

Many things, a degree for one. I hope to travel lots and see many different parts of the US. To become a better soccer player, make lots of new friends experience a new culture and most of all it will be an adventure.

Wow, Agnes! You’re going to smash it over there!
