Most colleges in the U.S. will offer what is called “work study”. It is an opportunity for college students to get some part time work while also studying and competing in collegiate athletics, with the convenience of not having to leave your college campus to get to work.
As an international student your visa will allow you to work up to 20 hours a week on campus, but make sure you don’t overload your schedule and have enough time for study and training as well.
There are plenty of different jobs on campus like the following:
- Cafeteria work
- Student center work
- Library clerk
- Landscaping
- Facilities/maintenance
- Events staff
- Gym clerk
- Mail room
Each campus will have different jobs available, you will just need to speak with your coach, international advisor or campus employment officer and they will help find you a job on campus that will suit you and your schedule.
