We caught up with our goal-keeping sensation, Michael Garnon (NSW), right before he left for the University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky!

Michael (00000002)

Soccer-pro Michael Garnon always had a passion for football.
“It has always been fun to get out on the oval and run around, and I love it primarily because I’ve found I was always pretty good at it,” he shared.

“My ultimate career goal was to play sport professionally.”

The young star admitted that he never thought that could be a “possible career path”, yet his NSR pathway makes him feel like he “could pursue that”.

The multi-talented young athlete also holds a love of the arts, and to be involved in acting is what he describes as “a dream outside of sports.”

Michael explained that his U.S college journey is a “fresh start”, and looked forward to “having this amazing experience and opportunity that not many people are fortunate enough to get.”

At the end of his NSR experience, Michal hopes that he can “use the opportunities provided…by NSR” to “push” himself into a professional career in soccer.

“I realise there is still a lot of work left for me to do to get there. I hope that I can gain confidence as a result of the program, and that I may be able to grow as a soccer player and a person generally.”

Wow. We love this bright attitude, Michael!
