Soccer sensation, Jaryd Shaw (NSW) admits that right now, excitement is beating his nerves!
“I’m pretty excited. I’m not as nervous as I thought I’d be, but I am just really excited,” he said.
The star jets off to the States in a matter of days, joined by his younger brother Aiden, and best friend Nat Fullbrook.
Older brother Jaryd, decided to delay his intake so that he could experience his journey with his companions.
Jaryd admits he’s never been overseas, therefore is extremely excited to get to the US and “have a look.”
“I live in a pretty nice place here, but it’s nothing compared to over here! Plus I haven’t travelled anywhere, I haven’t been overseas. It’ll be a cultural experience, I guess,” he said.
The trio is heading to the idyllic Lake Tahoe in California, much to Jaryd’s delight.
“This is pretty much the pinnacle for me, Lake Tahoe,” he explained.
“I’ve never seen snow, so snow will be a bit of a change,” he admitted.
Although Jaryd is excited to experience the “next level” of soccer over in the States, ultimately he can’t wait to gain his degree.
“It’s tempting to always go for the soccer career, but you’ve got to be realistic. It’s definitely a priority, but if it doesn’t happen, I’m alright with that.
“It’s a win-win,” he said.
