Blair Aitken started playing golf from the mere age of four, although “nothing serious”.
From the age of 13, Blair decided to pursue his sport more seriously, after following in the footsteps of his father.
“He’s big into golf as well. He just got me out there and I got a passion from there, really,” he explained.
After finding out about the NSR Australia trials to be held at Bulkwater Golf Club last August, Blair jumped at the opportunity to participate.
“I didn’t really expect anything, I just went down there to have a crack,” he said.
“It’s always been my dream to play golf in America, and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity.”
The young talent dreams of getting onto the PGA tour, therefore saw NSR as the route to do so.
Although possessing incredible talent, and achieving massive success (such as qualifying to play in the Greg Norman Junior Masters), Blair admits that he’s had next to no training in golf.
“I’ve only just had pointers from my club professional, but that’s it. I’ve had no coaching whatsoever really,” he said.
The young talent has sought the guidance from books and videos, getting him to the stage he is at now.
Blair is extremely excited to start his NSR journey overseas, due to the “massive improvement” it will have on his game, being “formally coached”.
What a star! It definitely sounds like Blair is full of natural talent.
