Grodzana Zlovic admits she felt worried at first, when the prospect arose that her son, Viktor (NSW), would be leaving the family home to live by himself in America.
“I was worried, because he had never left home before, this was the first time he’d ever left home and for another country,” she said.
This natural worry was soon replaced with joy, as Grodzana soon realised what an incredible opportunity the NSR pathway would be for her son.
“I think it’s a really great opportunity for young men like him, my Viktor, to play soccer for a different country and at the same time study. I think it was amazing,” she said.
Grodzana admitted she felt more secure, once she saw the constant support Viktor was receiving.
“Everything was properly set up, and they helped him a lot. Someone waited for him over there, messaging him, and it was really,” she said.
“The whole team was really supportive, NSR is set up really well for young kids who want to experience studying and playing soccer. It was really amazing.”
After all the incredible life-lessons Viktor gained on his US journey, his parents noticed a great change in their young son.
“He’s more mature, and has more responsibility,” she said.
Grodzana attributes this change purely to his experience in the states.
“He’s seen a different side of the world through an opportunity to play soccer in a different country, and met all different and new people and friends over there,” she said.
“He loved it,he loved it.”
