We caught up with Debbie Donoghue, mother of NSR soccer athlete, Rachael (NSW)!
Debbie talks about the conflicting emotions she’s feeling:
NSR Australia mother, Debbie, dotes on her young soccer athlete daughter, Rachael.
Debbie shares that she has high hopes for her daughter through the NSR experience, hoping that she gets the “experience of a lifetime.”
“As a parent, you always want the best for your kids,” she shared.
“Someday she will proudly tell everyone that she did something no one else in our family would have ever dreamed of.”
The proud mum shares that she “couldn’t be prouder” of her child.
“She works so hard at everything she does,” she says.
Although excited for her daughter, Debbie admits that she has confused feelings about seeing her go.
“I have mixed emotions about her going overseas,” she says.
“Excitement, worry, sadness…we will miss her terribly.”
Ultimately, the supportive mother knows that her daughter will achieve success in all her life.
“I know that Rachael will strive to be the best she can be both on and off the sporting field.”
