Keeping up with class and sport, we were lucky enough to lock in some time to speak with NSR athlete and Allegany College of Maryland soccer star, Stefanos Stefanidis (SA) who dishes all details about his new college schedule.
Describe your daily school routine in detail
I am taking Reading, Maths, English and Sports Officiating. Reading only went for half of the semester but was taken on Monday and Wednesday at midday. Maths is mid-morning every day, English late afternoon on Tuesday and Thursday and Sports Officiating early in the morning on Tuesday and Thursday.
During my breaks between classes I tend to go to the gym and lift weights however after English I go straight to soccer training.
My favorite Class is sports officiating because it interests me more than others.
English would be my hardest class as there are so many assignments to deal with.
Describe your daily training routine in detail
I wake up early in the mornings before class and head to the gym to lift some weights (If I don’t go in the morning I go during my break). Training goes from 3:30-5:30 pm and consists of warming up with some static and dynamic stretching, followed by some run through. Then we go into some possession games and finish off with some sprints.
Is your schedule super busy?
My schedule is not too bad, I manage my time well. If I am stressed I just head to the gym and let out some steam.
Is your schedule much different from your schedule in Australia?
I get a lot more free time in college than I did in School in Australia, however there are a lot more assignments and exams to do in a short amount of time.
