Sam Roestbakken from the ACT began playing soccer at the young age of five years old.
The young star “grew up playing it”, learning to “love” the game.
Sam was forced to evaluate his future, when he realised he “didn’t want to get to that age” where he didn’t “have anything to do.”
“I didn’t want to finish up with the sport and have nothing else to do,” he explained.
After a successful trial with NSR, Sam’s direction was sealed.
“I was pretty ecstatic,” he recalled.
“Football is a growing sport in America, and it’d be a great environment to get involved in… football and schooling also,” he said.
Although Sam admitted he’s not entirely sure of what academic path he wants to take, he said “it’d have to be something within sport.”
Ultimately, the hot-shot hopes “to become a professional soccer player”, but admits if “that doesn’t work out”, he’s got “schooling to fall back on.”
What an awesome adventure you’re about to depart on, Sam!
