Softball sensation, Natasha Holt (VIC) is currently living the dream, having been honoured with a place on the National Under-17’s Softball Team a mere two weeks ago.
The young talent is extremely casual about her success, although admitting she’s “pretty excited” about the “good opportunity”.
Natasha first got involved in softball at the age of seven, and has been playing for 10 years.
She explains that she got to this position through a lot of hard work.
“With all the training I do, and the different tournaments I do, good opportunities come up,” she said.
“Playing nationals and all that sort of stuff helps. I’ve done State for the past couple of years, and from the State Nationals you get chosen for the National Team,” she explained.
Now, the young star sees herself taking on other elite international softball players in the current 2015 International Youth Championships, and hopes for further success.
With a desire to get a higher education, and be able to pair school with her sport, Natasha was lead to the NSR Australia Program.
“I really wanted to get a higher education, and pair school with something I love doing,” she explained.
“Going overseas would give me a lot more opportunity than it would out here.”
Natasha also can’t wait to experience a different level of competition that is different to Australia.
Most importantly, Natasha can’t wait to enjoy her NSR journey, wanting to “have fun with it”.
“Having fun is the main priority of mine,” she said.
What a superstar! This one is definitely one to watch!
