We checked in with NSR’s very own athlete, Hannah Baker (SA)! The soccer starlet shares with us her top five tips to staying on top of your academic and sporting game!
1. Time Management
“I plan everything, I really manage my time. At the beginning of each week, I write what I have on that week. What training I have, what assignments are due, and allocate time for each of them.”
2. School is just important as sport
“I make sure nothing really takes precedent, and everything is equal in importance. School is just as important as sport, as just as important as friends and family.”
- It’s okay to have a bad day
“It’s okay to have a bad day every now and then, when you don’t get what you need done.” - Sleep
“Sleep is very helpful! Keep the balance of sleep. Your own health is very important, more than sport and school sometimes. You have to put yourself first.” - Use the people around you to help you
“My parents and my coach, and generally just all my teachers at school…They’ve all been very supportive of it all.”
