Courtney has held a love of moving since her earliest days.
“When I was really little, as soon as I started walking I was just running all over the place,” she shared.
“Mum put me in little athletics and then from that point on, I just absolutely loved it.”
The star held a passion for running long distance, but had to make a change after she was diagnosed with asthma.
For this determined athlete, it wasn’t going to keep her away from the field!
“I got asthma and I decided to go to hurdles and sprints,” she shared.
These days, Courtney competed in the 100 meter hurdles, shorter distance running and long jump.
Aside from loving the chance to be able to extend herself physically, Courtney greatly enjoys the social aspect of athletics.
“I think it’s an amazing place to go and be around friends. You just get so much out of it,” she shares.
Courtney was drawn to trial with NSR, because of the further opportunities it could provide for her.
“I thought it was an amazing opportunity to get out of your comfort zone and have a massive experience,” she said.
The budding-professional looks forward to the state-of-the-art facilities available in the US.
“I’ve trained with a few people that I’ve heard that have gone over there, and from what I’ve heard from them… it’s just been an amazing experience. The coaching and the facilities over there are just awesome. That got me really excited to have a go at trialling,” she shared.
Apart from challenging herself further in athletics, Courtney is excited for the academic journey she will take, interested in studying physio, nursing or vetinary studies.
As for exploring the rest of the States, Courtney can’t wait to see it all.
“I’m kind of happy to just go anywhere,” she admits.
“I’m just so excited. It’s an awesome experience.”
Wow, what a great story! We can’t wait to see you succeed, Courtney!
