Amelia Pearson enjoyed an extremely active childhood, involving herself in tennis, dance and even circus school. However, when Amelia was twelve years old, she played her first game of soccer, immediately forming an intense passion for the game.
“By the time I had had my second game of soccer, I was hooked. I just loved being part of a team, having the opportunity to run, and working out the tactics of the game,” said Amelia.
These days, soccer is a “major part” of Amelia’s life.
“I love to play and I want to become a better player. I have sought out opportunities to develop my skills and stretch my abilities,” she said.
These dreams to create a professional soccer career lead Amelia to excitedly join the NSR team as a new soccer prospect.
“Tasmania has been good to me in the sport but opportunities are limited. There is a big world out there and I want to explore the possibilities and increase my contribution. If I can become a better player and gain a better understanding of the game I will be able to give more back to the local community in the future,” she said.
On signing with NSR, Amelia explains she was “extremely excited.”
“Furthering my soccer career has been a persisting dream, and I have always looked for opportunities to advance in the game and increase my contribution in the sport. I am keen to pursue my academic studies but wondered how I might do so while also playing a high level of soccer. Acceptance for NSR appears to allow me to meet both my goals,” she said.
It’s so amazing to have you on the team, Amelia! We can’t wait to see you continually kicking goals, on and off the field.
