On the back of the recent Knox Basketball US College Showcase with NSR Australia, we caught up with Basketball Development Manager, Jordan Canovan.
The skilled basketball player explained that Knox Basketball is a source of incredible talent.
“We are very fortunate to have a lot of talent coming through our program in both the boys and girls competition,” he said.
“We credit this to our amazing coaches at both the domestic and representative level who work tirelessly in developing player’s skills, knowledge and work ethic.”
For all the aspiring professionals that make their way through the program, Jordan explained that the USA could be a great pathway.
“A USA college route provides great opportunities for young aspiring basketball players both on and off the court,” he said.
“The talent within Australian basketball has been showcased throughout the world, with Aussie players succeeding in the NBA and in Europe which provides a spotlight on all the younger talent around Australia.”
Jordan said that the US collegiate route offers keen basketballers an opportunity to really push themselves.
“College allows for our juniors to work with elite coaches in elite programs that compete against some of the best and talented up and coming basketball players in the world,” he said.
“College not only provides athletes with elite basketball experience but also gives players an experience of living in another country, education and pathways to professional levels in all countries.”
