Katrina Ziebarth, is looking forward to the journey ahead of her as she sets off to the USA this year to play soccer at Potomac State College in West Virginia.
Born in Queensland and having grown up in Brisbane, Katrina has played soccer all her life, making the decision to become a goal keeper in year 11. Having traveled with family from a young age but never visiting the USA, Katrina says;
“I love playing soccer, and now it’s sending me the United States. I’ve been given the opportunity to travel and play, which feels almost too good to be true.”
Currently studying engineering in Australia, this opportunity to head to the states is a welcome break for Katrina and she looks forward to “making new friends, seeing America, experiencing college life and improving her skills with different levels of soccer players and teams.” Katrina will be studying business administration which will give her an unprecedented edge on her studies upon coming back to Australia. Katrina has worked closely with NSR Australia during this process and says, “NSR has helped me a lot as I have been busy with study and if I got a bit confused about something they were always there to help.”
NSR Australia are very proud of Katrina and wish her all the best in her studies and sport in America. NSR Australia hope to assist with any student-athlete wishing to embark on a journey to the United States, and hope Katrina will keep us updated of her travels and college life so we can share this with her community and other students in our program.
