The Jaqua Academic Centre for Student Athletes is a three-story, $42 million dollar glass cubed architectural masterpiece at The University of Oregon.
The campus centre, largely funded by Nike founder, Phil Knight, was officially opened in 2011, and is specifically for the NCAA-mandated academic services for student athletes.
The centre features private student athlete tutoring rooms, computer labs, cafés, relaxation rooms, auditoriums, and an academic hall of fame.
The building was designed by ZGF Architects, and features a reflecting pool that surrounds all four sides, as well as a birch ‘forest’ on the North side to promote tranquility.
Wouldn’t it be nice to be a student-athlete at Oregon?!
