Once a small-town, scrawny aspiring basketballer, Matt Dellavedova was transformed into one of today’s most watched basketballers after going through the U.S collegiate route to his dreams.
After attending the Australian Institute of Sport, Matt followed his basketball dreams overseas, attending Saint Mary’s College of California.
Dellavedova finished his college career, leaving with the status of all-time leader in scoring, assists, games played, free throw percentage and three-point shots.
The point-guard talent was under drafted in 2014 after four years at college, before securing a shaky contract with the Cavaliers. At a mere 24 years old, Dellavedova is now the subject of immense critical acclaim, and remains a core reason for the Cavs success.
Fellow Cavs giant, LeBron James, has nothing but the highest praise to give his team member, “He gives us everything until the tank is empty, and he has a small little reserve tank that he continues to work through. He’s huge for us.”
With no stopping in sight, this small-town Australian basketballer is sure to continue taking the U.S by storm.
