Hey guys,
Well what a huge month of football the Men’s FIFA World Cup and hasn’t their been some cracking moments!! From the opening goal of the tournament being an own goal from Marcelo, to Neymar’s brilliance, Van Persie’s amazing diving header, to the embarrassment of Suarez biting once again, to James Rodrigues’ volley and to our very own superstar Timmy Cahill with his awesome volley. Those were only a very of the memorable moments, and there are plenty more from where those came from!
We’re nearing the end of the tournament and the knock out stages are always the most exciting, football is an amazing game to watch and the World Cup is the one place in the entire world where all the best footballers are in the one place. I’m tipping Netherlands to take it out, purely for the fact that I’ve always loved their team, Van Persie being my favourite player but also a fan of the rest of their forward pack.
Well besides watching a heap of the World Cup I’ve been busy settling into a new place of my own, started a new job in finance with BT financial group as a Associate Para-planner and my usual rehab and football.
I am very excited to say I’ve started running, doing ball/skills work and slowly but surely progressing, which is great. I had my first running session a couple of weekends ago and boy was I breathing heavy! It was one of the greatest feelings I’ve ever had, feeling that exhaustion, panting and feeling that sweat drip down my forehead, those feelings are what I’ve missed the most. I could have kept running all day, but it’s going to take self-control to work between my limits and know that eventually I will hit that higher intensity in the short term.
I’m very much on track at the moment and can’t wait to get back 100%. Along with that there is some exciting movements surrounding W-League for myself and I will definitely give you guys the inside goss next blog.
I hope the winter isn’t as punishing as I’m finding it, being my first Aussie winter in 3 years but I’m only just coping.
Don’t let the cold hold you back from being the best athlete you can be, talk soon!
