W-League Grand Final - Melbourne v Sydney

Hey guys, wow I can’t believe I’m writing my 8th blog of the year and it’s August already. Time has gone quicker than I can count this year, my birthday has come and gone and I feel as though I’m really getting on (23 whole years!).

Well what’s been happening lately, I’m up to week 10 of my countdown till I play my first game and there has been a mixture of set backs and progressions. It’s about finding the right balance between building my running as well as strength in my legs and find that happy medium between the two to make sure I’m ticking all the right boxes to allow myself to come back to 100%.

It is not a easy process, coming down to the wire and the 12 month mark creeping on in, and still kind of feeling like I’m a while away. A bit of that would be doubt, but also those minor set backs that compile together and seem like a bigger issue than what they probably are. Situations like this though are what require that positive determination and resilience to get you through, always reminding yourself why you’re doing what you do and what your end goals are. I guess that has been a crucial part in my rehab, always reminding myself how badly I want to achieve my goals and get back to where I was, if not come back better.

On another note I’ve been blessed with a huge opportunity from Nike to be apart of their global Spring Campaign. So later this month I will see myself flying to LA, smashing a couple days of shooting, couple days of shopping and a short turn around home 5 days later. One thing I’m super excited about other than the opportunity itself is the beautiful hot weather L.A will have to offer, along with an arranged trip to the Nike Headquarters in Portland, Oregon which should be awesome which I will happily continue my shopping! Everyone needs a bit of down time to relax and kick their feet up every once in a while, I know for me I need my own space and time away from football, work and study just to relax and debrief. If you haven’t noticed my number one hobby is sitting at a café having a coffee and doing my work, which in fact is what I’m doing as I write this 🙂

In more football news, I am excited to say the W-League team I have signed for is Sydney FC! I am stoked to be back in the Sky Blue and can’t wait to play my first game back, which is scheduled to be against Brisbane Roar, which will be a cracker on a game! I absolutely can’t wait and I highly suggest anyone that has the opportunity to follow the W-League and even better get out to a game this season, to do so! It’ll be a great lead up to the World Cup next year and we love the support!
