Student life: Over 200 student clubs, athletic events, organizations and greek life. The University of Maine offers recreation activities and outdoor activities which include canoeing, rock climbing, kayaking, hiking and camping. If you are interested in a specific social or political group, the University of Maine will have the perfect fit for you. On campus, there are 15 miles of running and biking trails.

Academics: Offers 90 undergraduate areas of study, 70 graduate degrees, and doctorate degrees in 35 fields. With a 16:1 student to facility ratio and average class size of 19, students won’t get lost as a number.

Athletics: Maine’s only NCAA Division 1 athletic program with 15 NCAA athletic teams. In 2015, UMaine named 268 student-athletes as scholar-athletes, which means they hold a GPA of 3.0 or better throughout the year.

Residency: First year students are required to live in on-campus housing and have the ability to live in 1 of 7 “themed housing”. These “themes” allow students to make instant connections within their same major.
