In the haste of creating profiles, sending in your footage and speaking with coaches, it is very easy to neglect the most important document for your travels. Your Passport.
Many of you will not have been overseas before, so you will need to go through the process of applying for your first passport. The forms can be obtained from your local Australia Post office. It would be a good idea to chat with someone at the desk in the post office, as they will have some good tips for filling out the forms.
For those that have been lucky enough to travel overseas at this stage, then we would highly suggest that you make sure your passport is not due to expire while you are in the US. The forms for your new passport can also be found at an Australia Post Office.
You will also need a fresh photo for your Passport. The Passport office is very strict on the sizing and quality of the photos that you will be using so it’s best to head to a source that advertise passport photos specifically. Many photo developing stores and Post Offices will be able to take your photo.
Through the entire process, you must be very diligent on following the rules laid out. If any part of the form is filled out incorrectly, then it will be immediately returned and you will need to start the process again. Some staff at the Post Office will be nice enough to point out any potential mistakes you may have made during the process. It is best to not leave anything to chance so check and recheck your forms to make sure everything is filled out and correctly.
