WS13_Whigham_AU5C5797Pre-season training can be one of the most exciting times of the year for a collegiate athlete. Students are coming back to school, friends are reunited, new athletes enter teams and make new friends and so much more. There is a lot of stuff going on and you will never be bored or alone. Pre-season can be very intense for a lot of collegiate sports and new athletes figure this out quickly. You will become fitter than you have ever been before with training sessions up to three times a day depending on your coach.

It is impossible not to improve as an athlete and as a person. You can only get better. When your body adjust to the new workload you will feel so energized and pumped for the season to come because you will feel yourself improving in just a matter of days.

To make this transition into college sports easier we suggest you take advantage of your time at home before you leave. Get yourself into the habit of being active each and every day. Whether it be going for a run in the morning or swimming every night or going to the gym in the morning. Be sure to just work your body and get it used to the cycle. This will make it a lot easier to adjust and it could possibly even put you ahead of other athletes at the beginning of pre-season. The coach will take note of your commitment.
